FAQs

(Frequently

Asked Questions)

Q:  How many copies of my project do I have to submit?

A:  You will submit ONE copy by emailing it to:

Daniel Bradford, Library Coordinator

dbradford@ccsf.edu

Q:  What is the deadline?  When will you announce the winner?

A:  All emailed/physically mailed entries MUST be received by 11.59 pm on Friday, May 2nd.

We will announce the winner on Monday, May 19th, 2014.

Q:  What if I have a project that wasn't saved in electronic format or can't be emailed for some reason?

A:  You can still submit it!  Here's how:

1. Go to any CCSF library and tell them you want to submit a Library Research Award entry through internal mail.

2. Give your project to a City College librarian and ask them to send it through internal mail delivery to:

Daniel Bradford

Chinatown-North Beach Library

The May 2nd deadline at 11.59 pm still applies for physically mailed entries.  I have to receive it by that day and time, so make sure you send it at least a week in advance!

Q: The faculty member who knows the most about my research is not the instructor for my class. Must the “supporting faculty member” be the class instructor?

A: Yes, he/she must prepare the “Faculty Supporting Documentation Form.” However, you may also include a letter of support from the faculty member who you feel knows the most about your research for the paper/project you are submitting.

Q: My paper/project was completed for a course that wasn't Summer 2013, Fall 2013, or Spring 2014.  Can I still submit it?

A: Unfortunately, we cannot consider projects unless they were completed in a credit course you took for Summer 2013, Fall 2013, or Spring 2014.

Q: I have not yet completed the paper/project by the award deadline. Is it necessary to submit a finished paper/project? Would a draft version be acceptable?

A: You may submit a draft version of your project. However, for the purposes of judging, the more complete a project/paper is, the better. Certainly, an early draft would not be acceptable.

Q: I dropped the class, but did the research and completed my project. Is my project eligible?

A: No, you must have already gotten, or be in the process of getting, credit for the class in order to be eligible for the prize.

Q: Is my honors course project/paper eligible?

A: Yes, certainly.

Q: Are team projects eligible?

A: Yes, they are. Teams should submit a single application for their project. All team members should contribute. If a team project/paper wins, the money will be split equally among the team members.
